This unique postcard sent me Christine from Australia. This is the first maksikard in my collection.
Postcard shows Phillip Law, a famous Australian scientist, explorer Australian Antarctic Territory. For 20 years, he has made more than 20 trips to the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic region - most of them, as the leader of the expedition.
On the postcard - landing the helicopter on the Arturson bluff in 1962. Bluff was named in honor of helicopter's pilot.
Phillip Law devoted to studies of Antarctic whole life.
He died in Melbourne February 28, 2010 at the age of 97 years.
